Beginning of Summer Fun!

It’s been awhile since I’ve updated my page but the good news is that I have found and tried so many amazing places! Many pictures have been uploaded on my Instagram, and I am finally able to share my experiences with you! Sorry to keep you waiting, but here it is:

1. 626 Night Market:

Summer is ALL about trying new food and visiting new places! The night market series (OC, Ktown, 626, and much more) are “THE” perfect places to try new food while enjoying the atmosphere filled with music, lights, and the arts. 626 Night Market was the first event that I attended and despite the line, I have found some amazing tastes and drinks that 626 area has to offer!

Main Squeeze was definitely refreshing for the hot weather and the variety of flavored lemonade just made my day! They even had a photo booth which attracted many customers and made it even more fun to wait in line. When I saw a watermelon lemonade sign I didn’t have to think twice, I had to get it! Fresh squeezed lemonade with watermelon bits, there’s nothing else that is more refreshing than this drink here! Next time I visit the night market, this will be my first stop no doubt.

Okonomiyaki is a very famous street food in Japan and you cannot miss the smell when you walk by this booth. With many different flavors such as cheese, corn, veggies, octopus and more you have so much to choose from. My choice was corn, and I would have to say that you are able to taste a little part of the Japanese culture and you know this is true because the chefs behind the tent are having so much fun making you this delicious plate of goodness!

2. Downtown OC

The Playground : It was about time that I explored different parts of downtowns in Orange County. I’ve always heard about this famous “pork chop” places at the Playground, but I’ve never really tried it before! Service, atmosphere and the food was 100%, and I would definitely pay another visit to this restaurant. One thing is that the line is usually pretty long so I suggest going early to reserve your spot!

MMMM~ this is the famous maple pork chop, you need at least 3 people to share this little sucker xD

Smoqued BBQ: The best thing about life is when you come across something when you are least expecting it. My friends and I visited downtown Orange and we stumbled upon this amazing BBQ place. A little hidden in downtown, they have so much flavor in many different dishes that they carry. Smoqed BBQ also brew their own beer so you are able to try many different flavored beer as well! My favorite dish from them was their 420 MAC which includes cornbread, mac & cheese, texas chili, raja pork, bacon, tomatoes, onions, cheese, sour cream, and carmelized onions! ALL of these things in 1 plate… my only word is YOUMUSTTRY.

My next stop in DT Orange was a hand crafted ice cream shop called A la Minute.  If you have never tried an AVOCADO flavored ice cream, I highly suggest that it should be on everyone’s check off list of this summer to-do list. It was my first time trying an avocado flavored ice cream, and oh man, does it not just “melt” in your mouth but the semi-sweetness just soaks up your palettes and it’ll make you realize, “Wow, I never knew I could eat THIS much dessert in one standing!”

Just as I mentioned, this is just the beginning of our amazing summer of 2015! There are many adventures that we will share and I cannot wait to explore for more food places!

Until next time, FF.
